The book traces how confusing temporary access with lasting ownership produces anxiety, attachment to possessions, compulsive accumulation and grief over loss, which it frames as miscalibrations rather than personality flaws. It aims to move the reader from an assumption of permanence toward purposeful, temporary living. The book says it is not a book about death but about living well in light of it.
