What it is
The foundational volume of The Qur'anic Coherence System. It argues that the Qur'an's non-chronological arrangement does not make it disordered, distinguishing the order of revelation over twenty-three years from the order of the written text, which is meant for recitation, reflection and guidance. It defines key terms including nazm (order), munasabah (connections between verses and surahs) and 'amud (a surah's central theme), sets out five levels of order from the single verse to the whole book, reviews classical and modern scholarship on structural reading, and proposes criteria for judging structural claims. The book lists five parts and 28 chapters.
