What it is

A study of how human character is formed over time. The book draws on the Qur'anic image of two trees: a good tree with firm roots and branches reaching the sky, and a corrupt tree with no stability. It examines the roots of sound character as identified in the Islamic tradition and the failure points that lead to a corrupt tree, and argues that the home, marriage, community and daily habits are central to that process. The book addresses readers who want to understand who they are becoming and what a rooted, purposeful life built on a sound foundation involves.
