What it is
This volume treats qadar, the Islamic doctrine of divine decree, as a practical framework for life rather than only a source of comfort. It argues that the doctrine is widely misunderstood and used to justify passivity, excuse failure, or swing between fatalism and anxious rebellion, and it sets out to correct these errors through a systematic examination. Its central claim is a division of responsibility: the individual owns the effort, while the outcome belongs to God. The book links misunderstanding of this division to anxiety, ego inflation and spiritual paralysis. Topics include decree, choice, trust, patience (sabr) and contentment (rida).
